2) Selection of grinding wheel
a. Abrasive: Generally, white corundum (wa) is suitable. The cubic boron nitride (cbn) grinding wheel (particle size 120, concentration 100%, resin binder) has the best grinding effect, the workpiece is not easy to burn, but the price is more expensive, the trimming is more difficult; when grinding the acid-resistant stainless steel, the use Single crystal corundum (sa) has a good effect; when grinding cr17ni7al precipitation hardened stainless steel, it is better to use microcrystalline corundum (ma) grinding wheel.
b. Particle size: Due to the high toughness of the stainless steel material, the grinding debris is easy to adhere and block, so it is not suitable to use a fine-grained grinding wheel. The rough grinding should preferably use the f36, f46 particle size, while the fine grinding can use the f60 particle size. In order to apply to both coarse and fine grinding, the particle size of f46 and f60 should be used.
c. Bonding agent: Ceramic bonding agent can be used, which has high water-proof, heat-resistance and corrosion resistance, can maintain cutting performance well, has porosity, and can obtain high productivity.

d. Hardness: It is better to use a grinding wheel with lower hardness, which has better self-sharp performance. However, when the hardness of the grinding wheel is too low, the abrasive grains are not firmly bonded and fall off before being blunt, so that the service life of the grinding wheel is greatly shortened, so it is more suitable to adopt j3~n2, wherein the use of k1 and k2 is most common. .
e. Organization: When grinding stainless steel materials, it is easy to block the grinding wheel, so it is more suitable to use f5~f8 grinding wheel. It is better to apply an atmospheric hole grinding wheel in production.
f. Grinding fluid: It is suitable to use emulsion or No. 1 cutting fluid with good cooling performance and washing performance.
